In the early morning of February 28, one hundred and twenty five students had already put on their specialized cycling wear and headscarf. They were getting ready to start up their journey: Cycling Round the Island. The journey was about 14 days and 1000 kilometers. Soochow University holds this event annually, and this time comes to the fourth year.
Having been trained by professional coaches, one hundred and twenty five students rode around Taiwan from February 28 to March 12, on the very date of Soochow’s Anniversary. Starting from Waishuanghsi Campus, they went counterclockwise around Taiwan. On the anniversary of Soochow, they made a grand entrance to open the ceremony.
They visited some high schools on their way, such as National Tou-Liu Senior High School, National Beimen Senior High School, Tsoying Senior High School, National Taitung Senior High School, and National Lan-Yang Girls' Senior High School, and gave some speeches to high school students about this cycling around Taiwan. They also visited Soochow alumni enterprises and had some flash shows around Taiwan, with the hope that they could bring the spirit of Soochow all over the island.
Worth to mention that the event this year had a live broadcast. Organizers hoped that everyone could feel the enthusiasm of this cycling around Taiwan.
