Two camcorders which were taller than an adult were moving back and forth in a news studio, directed at a news anchor who frequently shuttled between a desk and a huge touch-screen monitor on which a large title of displayed a  news item. Standing in front of the monitor and staring at one of the camcorders, the news anchor was broadcasting the news. Standing outside the studio, campus reporters of Soochow University were observing every movement in the studio.

Led by Yeh Mei-Chun and Huang Chu-Wen, secretaries of Soochow University, campus reporters visited TVBS on Rueiguang Road, Neihu District on March 30. Catling Cao, the senior PR specialist of TVBS, was invited to give the campus reporters a detail explanation about the operations of a TV station and a guided tour showoff the various program studios in a TV station.

Moreover, Cao gave some suggestions to the campus reporters who might end up working at a TV station. She stressed that a reporter working at a TV station needs to be able to prepare news reports and videos in a short time and provide accurate information to viewers. Compared with print media, a TV station provides news mostly through videos; therefore a familiarity with video technology is required for working at a TV station.

During the visit, the campus reporters not only learned about the operations of a TV station but also had a chance to visit an entertainment program studio and a political talk show studio at TVBS. They acted as political commentators and showed a sense of humor as if a talk show was being broadcast, which spiced up the visit.
