On the night of May 10th at Downtown Campus, students newly admitted to Soochow’s EMBA Program in its 12th year received warm welcome at a tea party, in which the Program’s 10th-year seniors also passed on the responsibilities to the 11th-year students.
Founded in 2007, the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) Program aims to foster senior executive talents with global vision, and puts equal emphasis on planning and practice in its courses so as to motivate students’ creative thinking and enhance their problem-analyzing and problem-solving skills.
Dean of Academic Affairs Chan-Long Jan, Associate Dean of School of Business Chung-Tzer Liu, Director of EMBA Service and Growth Association Liang-Chun Lu, instructors and all the senior students enjoyed this wonderful banquet together. Jan stressed that the EMBA curriculum is designed to provide basic, core and professional courses with the best platform for learning, exchange and interaction. It is the Program’s mission to help people who have potentials in leadership and management achieve themselves and enhance their international competitiveness. Liu and Director of EMBA program Yung-Ho Chiu welcomed the new students while emphasizing the Program’s integration of resources from each department in the School of Business, which serves as a solid base that may equip students with all kinds of professional knowledge and abilities regarding managerial decision making, leadership, international vision, partnership and risk management.
Toward the end of the party, Yen-Wei Huang, a senior student who had just finished the “Gobi Challenge,” shared his experience with the new students. Huang pointed out that the most memorable thing after entering the EMBA Program is the achievement of completing “Gobi Challenge” for 116 kilometers within four days and three nights. The attitude of devoting oneself to overcoming difficulties and making breakthroughs has been what the Program strives to cultivate. Huang encouraged new students to take on challenges and reach new heights, while all the senior students welcomed these 12th-year students in joining the promising big family of the EMBA Program.
