An earnest group of Earth-loving Soochow alumni did their share of conserving the environment by planting 438 tree saplings in Linkou, New Taipei City on February 23rd, 2020, as an answer to the call by General Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of China and ITree Inc.
In the morning, led by Shih-Sheng Liu, chief consultant of Soochow Alumni Association, participants gathered at Jia Bao Beach in Linkou, and first adopted 219 saplings before the Association decided to match the number, making the total of trees planted reaching 438.
Despite the scorching sun and strong wind, the sweating alumni did their best digging holes, making ground work, and securing and watering the saplings. The association also prepared tree labels with each alumna or alumnus’ name written on as identification.
