Soochow students Yen-Ju Chen of the Department of Psychology and Yen-Chun Lin of the Department of Law were among the 200 winners of College Student Research Creativity Award in 2019-20 academic year, according to a recent announcement by Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST). Their success marked the seventh consecutive year for SCU to win this honor.
Chen’s research project, under the advice of Professor Man-Ying Wang, touched upon “the effects of arousal and approach motivation on temporal perception,” while Lin proposed her study on “the status and legal issues of private military companies in armed conflicts” with Assistant Professor Wan-Chun Ho as her advisor.
Chen and Lin would be granted a prize money of NT$20,000 and a certificate of merit respectively, and their advisors would receive an award plate.
To promote research momentum in the undergraduate level and to nurture young academic talents, the MoST has set up this research creativity award for college students who are sophomore or older, and opens for applications starting February every year.
