In order to increase the competitiveness of talents in Taiwan, and in response to the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) trends and the emphasis on employees’ social responsibilities by enterprises worldwide, Soochow University announced its official entrance to the Taiwan Talent Sustainability Action Alliance “TALENT, in Taiwan.”

By joining the initiative advocated by “CommonWealth Learning” and “Cheers” to solicit support from 100 institutes and companies, SU promises to uphold the belief of "giving back to the society,” continue to play its due role of educational institutions, and adjust strategies to adapt to social changes.

In admissions process, the school strives to create equal opportunities for potential students. Those admitted to Soochow will be provided a good learning environment with support and resources.

In terms of curriculum arrangement, the school encourages students’ attention to sustainable development issues in the country and around the world by offering “Sustainable Development” courses, and urges students to learn across domains by offering “Second Expertise” courses.

At the same time, in response to global trends, the school pursues curriculum innovation and establishes research centers to strengthen the development of students’ professional abilities.

To better connect with the society, Soochow promotes academia and industry collaboration and university social responsibility (USR) programs. In addition to enriching students’ practical experiences, the school also vows to cultivate students’ academic competence and humanistic thinking so as to maintain the sustainability and competitiveness of Taiwan’s labor force under the impact of low birth rates.
