To offer better assistance to international students and overseas Chinese graduates, 2 forums with a total of 35 students participating were held on May 4, in Room 2113 of the downtown campus and May 8, on Waishuangshi Campus respectively.
The topics of this forum included graduation, departure, extending one’s residence permit, summer courses for graduates, internships after graduation, health insurance, procedures in applying for work in Taiwan, et al. Director Huang of ICAE encouraged graduates to overcome obstacles and face challenges in life at the forum. Case officers conveyed detailed information and regulations, showed their care and exchanged ideas.
At the Q&A session, students showed interest in the working quota policy for overseas Chinese Students. The government has a quota of 2000 for the first year and that of the following years are based on existing conditions. At the forum, instructors not only encouraged students to apply for work in Taiwan, but also welcomed the graduates to remain in contact with them and stated they would be glad to help them whatever they could.
