Waishuangshi Campus was holding a Scholarship Award Ceremony for excellent overseas students on May 15, 2015. There were 26 winning students, who come from Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, and so on. Our principal, Pan, Wei-Da, awarded the scholarship in person and encouraged each winning students on the Award Ceremony. On the feast after ceremony, the winning students shared their living experiences in Taiwan.

Zhuang, Man-Ting, who comes from Thailand and is now a freshman of the Department of Business Administration, mentioned that she totally couldn’t speak Chinese before she came to Taiwan, so that she had to learn Chinese and professional courses at the same time. Even so, there’re still some parts which she cannot understand and she has to seek advice from teachers and classmates and study hard by herself. Despite all the difficulties, she, owning to her perseverance and efforts, has won the first prize in her class.

Zhang, You-Ting, who came from Hong Kong is now a sophomore of English Department. When he was asked about the biggest difference between students in Taiwan and students in Hong Kong, he said, "Taiwan students are not good at expressing themselves. Also, when facing foreigners, Taiwanese are too shy to speak English. But they are actually very diligent." He also encouraged Taiwanese students to express their opinions more frequently.

The ceremony and feast not only encouraged excellent overseas students, but also took the opportunity to exchange opinions with them. The activity ended with a complete success.
