Nearly 100 foreign exchange students received warm welcome from more than 10 SCU’s administrative and academic heads and many other volunteers on September 18 in Pu-Ren Hall. In the welcome party held by the Office of International and Cross-Strait Academic Exchange (OICAE), students from Europe, the U.S., Japan, Korea and Mainland China felt closer with each other through games as well as a feast.
President Wei-Ta Pan and vice president Bao-Cheng Dong, along with several deans of different schools and directors of some centers and offices, all attended the party, giving friendly greetings and advice to the exchange students, while volunteers of OICAE also associated with the students in a joyful atmosphere.
President Pan encouraged exchange students to experience more about Taiwanese culture and a different life abroad. Vice president Dong advised them to visit as many places in Taiwan as possible to expand their horizons. Chair of International Affairs Center Su-Hua Ou wished a wonderful and safe journey in Taiwan to all the exchange students, while Chair of Cross-Strait Affairs Center Yu-Mei Wang gave special souvenirs to them, encouraging them to participate in more school events, learn more knowledge, and make more friends.
Another highlight of the party was when students played the ice-breaking game, which symbolized the official start of their new life in SCU, and helped them get to know each other while having fun. At the end of the party, the students enjoyed delicious food and desserts prepared by OICAE in Dai’s Foundation Conference Room while chatting with teachers, volunteers and other staffs to end a memorable party filled with laughter.
