SCU senior Yi Zhao of the Japanese Department won the champion title in the 2017 National College Student Japanese Speech Contest at National Taiwan Normal University on November 15th, 2017, standing out among the 20 finalists from 12 universities around the country.
The contest, the highest-level Japanese speech competition in Taiwan, has marked its 15th year since 1992. By hosting such events, Japan Studies Association in Taiwan (JSAT) hoped to encourage more young students in Taiwan to learn the Japanese language and culture and to promote academic and cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Japan.
