Yi-Ching Lee (李宜璟), postgraduate student of Soochow’s Department of Social Work, won a special grant from the 2nd Lan-Yang Young Dream-Maker Program in May, 2018. She was subsidized with NT$78,000, which would help her implement her proposal of providing social services for adolescents in Hong-Kong from July to September in 2018.
Lee stood out from 22 competing applicants with her proposal themed on exploring a new path for helping teenagers with outreach service experiences in Hong-Kong. As the only applicant with social work background, she impressed the project reviewers with her excellent and touching presentation in the final round.Lan-Yang Young Dream-Maker Program, held by Lan-Yang Cultural and Educational Foundation, are open to youths aged between 18 and 39 who have registered or lived in Yilan area for one year or more. Grant winners will be provided with subsidies and opportunities to fulfill their dreams abroad by offering social services for one to two months.
After preliminary and final rounds of the rigorous reviewing process, this year six winners were awarded the grant to carry out their proposed projects in countries including Japan, Hong-Kong, the United States, Singapore, and Israel.
