On May 4th, the RB Rent Bowl, a team of intelligent eco-friendly eating utensils from Soochow University, won the recognition from the judges and reached the investment standard in the event’s Angel round in the UniAngels Roadshow presentation held at NCCU Research and Innovation-Incubation Center.
The UniAngels Roadshow aimed at promoting social innovation campaigns in universities combined with corporate social responsibility (CSR), social service, and sports marketing. Members from Taiwan Higher Education Alliance, Sanyuan Angel Investment Co., Angel Club, and Taipei Angels were invited as judges for the presentation.
The SCU team, led by the CEO of Soochow Co-site Xue-Liang Fan, and his crews Jun Wang (Department of English Language and Literature), Yu-Cheng Zhang, Meng-Xuan Chen, and Pei-Ting Yi (Department of Business Administration), took “creating a low-pollution lifestyle” as topic, hoping to solve problems of overuse of plastics from a fundamental aspect through providing eco-friendly eating utensils intelligently without compromising the convenience. Facilitating a sharing mechanism, circular economy, along with environmental protection, the team hoped to improve the efficiency of reusable resources through re-sharing and re-distribution.
With the goal “to breed creativity, to encourage innovation, to create entrepreneurial atmosphere,” Soochow Co-site encourages its teams to participate in competitions or presentations to practice self-expression and communication abilities and to interact with people from different fields and explore more possibilities.
