In October, 2020, Soochow University completed the relocation of Downtown Campus’s student clubs space, which was moved from Activity Center (the 6th Building) to Twanmoh Memorial Building (the 2nd Building). With 80 clubs moving in so far, SU President Wei-Ta Pan and other executives joined hands with students in the opening ceremony at Conference Room 2313 on October 20th.
President Pan and the Dean of Student Affairs Kuen-Chang Lee put the last two pieces of puzzle to complete the gigantic black and red “SU” building blocks. The alumni-designed blocks wall represents dreams and creativities of students, while “SU” stands for school name “Soochow University.”
“The new student club offices, from space design to objects display, are mostly based on students’ opinions and assistance,” Pan said. “The design may not be perfect, but it represents the value of students' voice and group education.” Also, the University awarded all the student participants with certificates to appreciate their teamwork and dedication throughout the relocation process.
The new club space boasts five multi-function rooms, including Discussion Room, Conference Room, Fitness Classroom, Multifunction Grand Room, and Music Practice Room. The building blocks wall, in the near future, will be a place available for all students to showcase their creativity.
