As part of the celebration of Soochow’s 121st birthday, this year SU promoted healthy ways for all students, faculty and staff with a series of events, including a month-long 121-km “Walk for Health” as well as “Family Day Sports Fun” and “Free InBody Health Check-up” on March 13th, 2021.
The event of Walk for Health accommodated only 121 participants who walked individually given the outbreak of COVID-19 with the application on their smartphones counting the accumulated distance. Those who finished at least 121 kilometers within a month from March 13th to April 13th were rewarded with a brand-name smart bracelet from the school’s Welfare Committee.
On March 13th, event-goers were welcome to join Family Day Sports Fun with a partner to compete in various games such as ping-pong and rope jumping and win an exquisite gift set. Meanwhile, one could take the Free InBody Health Check-up provided by the Health and Counseling Center, getting detailed information about his or her body condition, including muscle-fat analysis, segmental lean analysis, and BMI (Body Mass Index), in addition to some good advice on one’s diets and exercises.
SU Vice President Bau-Tscheng Dung also encouraged students to keep the habit of exercising during the COVID-19 pandemic and wished everyone good health and joy.
