Dean Chyan-Long Jan of Academic Affairs, on behalf of Soochow University, signed a strategic alliance agreement with Principal of Jinhe Senior High School (JHSH) Chun-Ning Chang on November 9th, 2021, at Waishuanghsi campus. Toward building up closer cooperation, SU will work with this 28th high school partner in several aspects, including diverse curricula, career guidance, teacher workshops, and international exchanges.
Some specific issues, such as “offering multiple elective courses,” “providing second language teachers and teachers’ learning community guidance,” and “promoting the school’s internationalization” were especially discussed in the signing ceremony.
Moreover, Associate Dean Kai-Chieh Hu of School of Business and Chair of English Department Chia-Chin Tsai respectively introduced SU’s development in teacher training and certification of EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) and Soochow’s current status and channels of international exchanges.
Head of SU’s Admission Division, as well as Directors of Academic Affairs, Counseling, and Library of JHSH were also involved in the discussions.
Jinhe Senior High School was established in 1986 as a comprehensive secondary school, which combines a junior and a senior high school in one. At present, 42 graduates of JHSH are studying in SU.
After the ceremony, JHSH principal Chang, a graduate of Soochow’s Chinese Department, along with other faculty members, were arranged to visit the newly-built Huai-En School History Showroom as its amazing digital features presented some old memories for Chang. The guests were also impressed by SU’s 3D film studio and comic reading area.
