Soochow University submitted its first corporate sustainability report in 2021 and received a bronze medal in the category of Sustainability Report Award in the 14th Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA), standing out from 236 participating institutes, including corporations, universities, hospitals, and government agencies.

In the report, Soochow presented both its actions and accomplishments of the school development plan and higher education SPROUT projects to fulfill UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Based on the completeness and credibility of information revealed, as well as communication efficiency, the Awards would grade the reports of sustainability or society responsibility from corporates, colleges, medical centers, and governmental organizations, which are required to demonstrate their interactions with the stakeholders, their objectives of practicing sustainable development, and their effectiveness in fulfilling social responsibilities.

Organized and hosted by Taiwan Academy of Corporate Sustainability (TACS), the 14th TCSA features five major categories: Sustainability Model Award, Outstanding Sustainability Youth Award, Sustainability Comprehensive Performance Award, Sustainability Individual Performance Award, and Sustainability Report Award.

Earlier Soochow was awarded silver and bronze honors in Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards (TSAA) with two University Social Responsibility (USR) projects: “New Symbiosis of Old Shilin District” and “Agricultural Tourism Assistance Program in Tianzhong Township, Changhua County.” These SDGs achievements were displayed in a series of exhibitions in early December and in a forum at PUREN Hall on Dec. 8th.
