Soochow University’s Yunus Social Business Center (YSBC) was shortlisted as the Best Affiliation Institution in 2022 in Yunus Social Business year-end party for its dedication to “the three zeros”: zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero net carbon emissions.
Under the leadership and guidance of CEO Hsiang-Hsin Wang, Soochow’s YSBC had cooperated with Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan to execute the project of “Travel in Tainzong” to promote social business.
This year YSBC co-organized “the 2nd Yunus Social Business Innovation Awards” again with the Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan and helped promote “Seminar Lectures on Design and Thinking.” The Center also plans to run a “Yunus Innovation and Entrepreneurship Camp” in SU in 2023 to raise the awareness of the three zeroes.
Yunus Social Business Center, Soochow University, was founded in 2018, and named after Muhammad Yunus, a Bangladeshi social entrepreneur and banker who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for creating the Grameen Bank to help the poor.
Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan was established in 2015 under the authorization by Yunus, and has since been dedicated to promoting Grameen Bank and fostering social businesses.
