The enrollment rate for the day-time undergraduate programs at Soochow University in the academic year of 2023-24 has reached 99.96%, surpassing all other private comprehensive universities or colleges in Taipei City, according to the statistics released by the University Admission Committee.
The total number of new students admitted to Soochow came to 2,790, only one short of the original quota of 2,791. The sole void was a result of a lack of applicants in the category of multiple musical instruments in the Department of Music.
The 123-year-old institution has garnered multiple honors in various college rankings in Taiwan, including “Most Favourable College” in Global Views Monthly’s 2023 rankings. SU holds the top position in the fields of Law & Political Science and Business Administration among private universities.
Since its establishment in 1900, the University has cultivated a myriad of alumni in all walks of life. In the academic year of 2023-24, SU also received a subsidy of NT$ 97.29 million from the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education SPROUT Project.
