Under the subsidy by the Ministry of Education’s New Southbound Policy, twenty students from Soochow’s Department of Business Administration arrived in Hanoi on August 24 for a two-week industrial excursion. Led by four faculty members and assisted by three alumni, they will visit thirteen Taiwanese-invested enterprises, including Shihlin Electric, Johnson Health Tech, BRICO, Dimerco Express, Wistron, UDE, and Pegatron.
The delegation is led by the Chair of Business Administration Department Li-Yu Chen, Associate Chair Chih-Wei Lin, Prof. Rong-An Shang, and Assistant Prof. Pham Xuan Ban Mai. The program also received strong support from the Department’s alumni, including Tian-Song Lin (Class of 1977), Chung-Hsien Liu (Class of 1977) and Feng-Kuang Lee (Class of 1996), who assisted with industry lisison.
To help students better understand Vietnamese culture, a pre-departure briefing on June 11 introduced the tour’s objectives, company profiles, and key cultural considerations, including differences in customs, climate, and dietary habits between Taiwan and Vietnam.
The Department of Business Administration hopes to strengthen industry collaboration and corporate exchange between Taiwan and Vietnam, helping to cultivate students with a broader international perspective.
The group is scheduled to return to Taiwan on September 6, followed by a presentation on September 17 to share observations and learning reflections from the visits.
