Macao Secondary School Students Visit Soochow University for Campus Life and Diverse Learning Experiences

To help Macao secondary school students learn more about Taiwan’s higher education system, representatives from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Macao, National Chi Nan University, and the University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Students led 30 Macao students to Soochow University on July 30, 2026. The Office of International and Cross-Strait Academic Exchange introduced the campus, academic programs, learning resources, and counseling services for international students, helping them gather more information on further study and life in Taiwan.

Current Soochow students from Macao shared first-hand experiences of preparing applications and adapting to coursework, housing, daily life, and social network in Taiwan. Lecturer Lin Yu-Lun form the Department of Japanese Language and Culture also offered a mini Japanese lesson to let the visitors experience the fun of language learning through simple expressions and interactive exercises.

Throughout the visit, students actively asked questions about academic programs, campus life, and preparations for studying in Taiwan. This activity not only deepened their understanding of Soochow University and Taiwan’s higher education environment but also provided a useful reference for their future study plans.
