In response to the ever-evolving era, Soochow University’s School of Science has embraced the power of new media with a launch of its podcast series “Soochow Science Has It” since April 15th, 2023. This monthly program aims to shed light on how the School of Science stays ahead of cutting-edge trends, empowers students, and dispelling the myth that traditional academic disciplines of science lack prospects.

One of the podcasts documented the School's dedicated efforts in implementing the USR (University Social Responsibility) project of promoting and applying kitchen waste composting soil for sustainable urban and rural development by collaboration and Practice between SU and Beipu Township.

It not only featured insights from Dean Yi-Tang Chang of the School of Science and Dean Shu-Fang Wang of the Office of General Affairs on the origins of the project, but also had the student participants freshman Bo-Xin Yuan of Microbiology Department and freshman Zi-Wei Xu of the Department of Political Science share their thoughts.

Additionally, student representatives from various departments within the School of Science participated in the interviews, sharing their experiences in cross-disciplinary projects and their academic journeys at Soochow.

Even the host of the podcasts Wei-Xuan Wang, an alumna from the Microbiology Department (Class of 2014), expressed admiration for her juniors' experiences and praised the School for its commitment to aligning with the global trend of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and to fostering cross-disciplinary talents.
