Among 24 elite teams from 17 universities across Taiwan, Soochow University’s EMBA team “Invincible Fleet” emerged as a top performer at the first-ever SinoPac Cup National EMBA Case Competition, hosted by the Taiwan Association of Business Schools, by winning the Best Presentation Award on May 25, 2025, for their innovative analysis of the “FoodCloud” social enterprise case.

Led by Po-Sen Kuo, with team members Shun-Li Li, Mei-Chuan Chou, Wen-Che Chiang, Wen-Na Chen, and Li-Ching Yao, the team impressed judges with their strategic insights and creative proposal centered on social innovation and cross-sector collaboration.

The SinoPac Cup is Taiwan’s first national-level case competition designed specifically for EMBA students. This year’s themes—industrial transformation, financial innovation, and service innovation—challenged participants to propose actionable solutions with real-world relevance, strengthening links between business education and industry practice.

Evaluation criteria included problem analysis, strategic coherence, financial feasibility, and presentation skills. Teams had only one week to complete all planning, case analysis, and live presentation under tight time limits, making the competition exceptionally intense.

The “Invincible Fleet” chose FoodCloud as their case topic, tackling the urgent issues of food waste and resource redistribution. Their proposal centered on building a cross-sector shared-value ecosystem, combining digital tools with stakeholder collaboration to connect corporate donors, nonprofit organizations, and public participation into a sustainable value chain.

With sharp pain-point analysis and scenario simulations, the team’s socially innovative solution distinguished itself among the competing entries and earned high praise from the judges.

Soochow’s EMBA program emphasizes the integration of theory and practice. Core courses cover strategic thinking, financial decision-making, ESG implementation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, encouraging students to apply their learning beyond the classroom.

The team’s outstanding performance in the SinoPac Cup exemplifies the program’s hands-on, problem-based learning model and its commitment to developing agile, socially conscious leaders.

“Innovation shouldn't stay on paper—it needs to take shape in the real world,” one team member shared. The preparation process involved intense discussions, content revisions, and presentation rehearsals, all under the pressure of limited time.

Through collaboration and rapid iteration, team members sharpened both their communication and critical thinking skills—growth that extended well beyond the competition itself.

As business environments continue to evolve, Soochow University’s EMBA program remains committed to experiential learning and cross-disciplinary thinking. By transforming knowledge into action, it empowers students to generate real-world impact in business, society, and beyond.
