Have you found recenly something different when you gain access to SCU website? On February 18, 2016, the SCU Computer Center updated its Chinese website, with newly developed applications and more convenient Wifi services (SCU 802.1X), to provide students with great efficiency when searching for important information from the university.

Different from the old version, the new Chinese website has a simple-and-clear frontpage; furthermore, it provides four pieces of the latest events on campus. The new website gives students a very different sense of experience, by re-locating the bulletin board to the frontpage's lower left botton, and by re-editing the old service links on the right-hand rows. To reflect on the Responsive Web Design (RWD), the new website will automatically change its typesetting to fit in the devices (computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.) that students are using. In addition, the Computer Center has also developed a “Soochow University” mobile app that allows students to check on the university's announcements, event registrations, academic grades, calss schedules, school calendar, etc. It is now available on App Store, Google Play, or https://mobile.sys.scu.edu.tw. The mobile app, released on February 22, has been doanloaded for over 2,500 times, with an average rate of 4.9 points, and more functions will be added in the future.

The new services also include a safer Wifi (SCU 802.1X,); students need to key in user ID and password to log onto the Internet for the first time only. The old SCU Wifi was out-of-service beginning with March 1. At present the university provides the SCU Wifi New (password: soochowU) and the new SCU 802.1X. Though the newly developed Wifi is still unfunctional on some devices that carry the latest versions, the Computer Center is working on solving this problem, hoping to provide more comprehensive services to all students.
