Conference on Legal Education of Anglo-American Law Held in Yantai

Yantai University held 2017 Cross-Strait Conference on Legal Education of Anglo-American Law on March 30^th. Chia-Yin Hung, Dean of School of Law of Soochow University (SCU), along with professors from Anglo-American Law Research Center including Sea-Wain Yau, Yung-Yu Cheng, Shin-Yi Huang and Wan-Chun Ho attended the conference.

Scholars from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Yunnan University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Dalian Ocean University, City University of Hong Kong as well as universities in Shandong province participated in the conference. Dean Hung of SCU delivered a speech at opening ceremony and acted as a commentator at the 1^st session. Professor Yau made a closing remark at the end of the conference. This conference contributed a great amount of effort to legal education of Anglo-American law and enabled professors to adopt better methods in teaching. The 2018 Conference will be held by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

On this special occasion, SCU and Yantai University renewed their Cooperation Agreement to consolidate the cooperative relationship between their law schools and promote the communication of approaches in legal education of Anglo-American law. In addition, SCU faculties visited a well-known local law firm on March 31^st and gave 3 theme speeches in Ludong University’s School of Law on April 1^st. SCU hopes to bring more enthusiasm and valuable experience to common law education.
