How does it feel to go camping on campus for one night? Ask the 100 students who did at Waishuanghsi Campus from October 28th to 29th. And their answers? Great Fun! As a part of the Second Mile for SCU students, this was the first ever on-campus camping event held by the school and aimed at helping students become more confident, perseverant, and environmentally alert through teamwork.

Organized by SCU’s Community and Interpersonal Relationship Development Center, this event featured three elements, including promoting environmental awareness, aesthetic accreditation and rappelling, with a major theme of emulating the ancient Chinese navy of Wu, which represents the spirit of honor and victory. The participating students were required to collaborate with each other in various missions and build up their own navy spirit.

Under coaches’ guidance and instructions, the students overcame difficulties, boosted their confidence, and finally completed the challenging missions. The event’s chief coordinator Guan-Wen Wang said: "Through this activity, SCU students have a chance to experience our campus culture and practice teamwork as well as strengthen friendship with others."

Dean of Student Affairs Hung-Yi Hsiao expressed special thanks to the support from the Office of Physical Education. And the great memories and important moments of the two-day camp was all recorded by the aerial photography provided by Professor Chiou-Min Chen of the Department of Physics.
