Soochow Builds Industry-Academia Cooperation Project with Commonwealth Magazine

The School of Big Data Management of Soochow University signed a cooperation agreement with Commonwealth Magazine (天下雜誌) to offer Soochow’s students more variety and depth in interdisciplinary learning. From late July to mid-August, 2018, the Leader Campus of Commonwealth Magazine (天下創新學院), by working with SCU, will be offering four courses focusing on topics such as big data, retailing, and AI.

This is part of the “Second Professional Specialty Program,” a 16-credit (or fewer) program Soochow has recently established for cultivating students as individuals with competences across different fields and subject matters.

Wei-Ta Pan, President of Soochow University, said that it is a great honor to work with Commonwealth Magazine, which has enjoyed excellent reputation in the field of business management and finance. As digitalization has become a trend with the advancement of technology, Commonwealth Magazine has set up an online platform called “Leader Campus,” in which the contents of magazine have been posted as learning materials. It has now become the largest e-learning platform in Taiwan and been of significant help for students.

The President of Commonwealth Magazine Yin-Chuen Wu told the press that it is a precious opportunity to cooperate with SCU, whose School of Big Data Management is the only institute that combines big data and AI with management in Taiwan. Lecturers of the courses include well-known writers of big data issues, experts in social media big data, and professionals from industry.

How to Access the Leader Campus:

Soochow faculty and students may visit SCU Library’s website and log into “Leader Campus of Commonwealth Magazine” with their account ID and password of E-Campus. After the log-in, users will be given an account and password of “Leader Campus” for same-day access to all its online learning materials for free!
