To implement the Curriculum Guidelines of 12-Year Basic Education, also known as the 2019 Curriculum Guidelines, Taipei Municipal Fuxing Senior High School signed agreements with Soochow and other 13 universities on May 19, 2020, forming a “Partner School Strategic Alliance.”

SCU Vice President Wei-Liang Chao and head of Admissions Division Ya-Jung Chen attended the meeting on behalf of SCU, and hoped to create a win-win situation for both Soochow and Fuxing by enhancing the exchanges and cooperation in teaching, research and administration resources.

The newly launched 2019 curriculum guidelines not only create various opportunities for cooperation between high schools and universities, but also aim to optimize the current student filter system in colleges. Soochow has participated in the professional development plan of the Ministry of Education, actively conducted frequent consultations, and established evaluation standards with high schools.

By signing the agreement, Soochow would recruit or enroll more students whose abilities and interests better suit the University, and could help new students in the aspects of career planning, academic orientation, student filtering, advanced placement, and multiple elective courses, etc.

Founded in 1953 as the first high school after the R.O.C. government retreated to Taiwan, Fuxing Senior High School has remained close with SCU due to geographical proximity. Currently there are about 60 Fuxing alumni enrolled in Soochow, and they form a large body of students in the Department of Music.
