Led by Soochow President Wei-Ta Pan, 117 members of SU Alumni Chorus sang in celebration of its 10th anniversary on November 19th, 2021, at National Concert Hall as probably the first offline chorus event in Taiwan in months since the country was under a second-time COVID alert.

With the theme titled “I Remember,” the concert gathered numerous excellent alumni and alumnae, including chorus leader Chun-Mei Ma, former Minster of Finance Professor Sheng-ford Chang, and the 32nd Golden Melody Awards winner Yun-Hung Chen, who performed with gratitude and blessing, along with Pan, to all the sponsors, volunteers, audience, and contributing school staff.

Aside from classical and popular chorus pieces, the chorus also performed a 10th anniversary commemorative song “The Peach Blossom Spring in My Heart,” which is composed by Professor Shen-Hsien Liu of the Department of Applied Music at Tainan National University of the Arts, with lyrics written by Jeng-Dau Jung, Professor of Soochow’s Department of Chinese Literature.

According to the alumnus conductor Yi-Shen Cheng, a special song “Ner Ner” in their repertoire “conveyed the pleasure of singing and symbolized 10th anniversary concert as something truly worth celebrating.”
