In the 2026 University Brand Power Survey released by 104 Job Bank on January 7th, Soochow University (SU) was recognized as the top private university in both “Law and Politics” and “Finance and Economics,” while ranking third nationwide.

The survey, based on over 4.18 million data points and 12 indicators across more than 120 universities, highlighted SU’s strong performance in these fields. It also reflects its excellence in leadership and salary competitiveness, underscoring its solid reputation among industry and society.

The survey drew on nearly a thousand corporate questionnaires, government open data, and international rankings. It evaluated universities using 12 indicators, including job competence, future skills, employability, academic prestige, research capacity, internationalization, leadership, sustainability, and salary competitiveness.

SU President Chyan-Long Jan noted that the university, with a history of 126 years, was originally founded on legal education. Today, its School of Law enrolls 2,300 students and is supported by 51 full-time and 230 adjunct faculty members, forming one of the strongest teaching teams in the nation.

In 2025, the university hosted more than 61 legal academic events, demonstrating strong research vitality. In addition, 13 student projects were approved under the NSTC’s “Research Project for College Students,” reflecting solid academic capabilities and continued commitment to diversified development.

SU’s Department of Political Science, one of the oldest in Taiwan, is known for its balance between theory and practice and its flexible interdisciplinary curriculum. Without rigid specialization tracks, students can explore political thought, international relations, public administration, and comparative politics, and develop personalized academic pathways.

With more than 6,000 alumni across government agencies, legislative offices, media, and private enterprises, the department provides students with abundant practical resources, internship opportunities, and career guidance.

Meanwhile, SU’s School of Business, accredited by AACSB International, focuses on finance, accounting, and international business. It integrates practice-oriented teaching with professional certification training, supported by strong faculty research and close industry and alumni connections.

The school has cultivated graduates who combine professional knowledge with practical skills, earning wide recognition from both society and industry. Its strong performance in the finance field has made it a top choice among private universities for employers.

To meet the growing demand for AI education, SU established the “Smart Innovation AI Learning Center” in 2025 in collaboration with NVIDIA. The center offers a comprehensive curriculum ranging from AI literacy to advanced certification programs.

Students from all backgrounds can find suitable learning pathways while developing critical thinking, interdisciplinary integration, and technological application skills, in line with the university’s commitment to digital humanities.
