SU Welcomes International Degree Students with Comprehensive Orientation and Support

To help newly enrolled international degree students adjust to life in Taiwan and settle into the campus community, the Center for Global Engagement held the 2026 International Degree Student Orientation on September 3, bringing together resources from both the University and the local community.

The orientation covered essential information on Alien Resident Certificates (ARCs), work permits, registration, and course selection. The Health and Counseling Center and the Moral and Civic Education Center also introduced resources related to counseling, gender equality, student activities, and emergency assistance. In addition, an officer from the Shilin Precinct of the Taipei City Police Department was invited to give an anti-fraud briefing, using real-life cases to help students recognize common scams and strengthen their awareness of personal safety.

Through the orientation, the University hopes to provide international students with the information and support they need to adjust smoothly to their new environment and begin a rewarding academic journey at Soochow University.
