Soochow University's Center for Global Engagement organized a one-day cultural trip to Yilan on October 17, 2026, offering international students an opportunity to experience Taiwan’s local traditions and connect with fellow students. The trip began in Sanxing Township, where students harvested the region’s famous scallions and made their own scallion pancakes. Through these hands-on activities, they gained a closer look at Taiwan’s agricultural heritage and local food culture.
In the afternoon, students visited the National Center for Traditional Arts to explore Taiwanese architecture, traditional crafts, and cultural heritage. More than just a day of sightseeing, the trip brought students from different backgrounds together to share experiences, build friendships, and create lasting memories.
Soochow University will continue offering cultural activities that help international students discover Taiwan and feel at home in its diverse campus community.
