It is also Taiwan’s first private university. Souvenirs were sold on the first floor of the Second Academic Building, and an expo of old pictures were presented to show the history of the school’s buildings, how they came to be named and also the founding of each department. The expo also introduced some of the leading donors among the alumni, including Chi-Hsien, Yang, Hsiou-Tzu, Chang Chung-Chi, Kuie, Mu-Kai, Duan, Wen-Yen, Tsao, Chao-Yung, Shih, Han-Ping, Chiu, Chih-Yen, Shih, Ting-Jui, Chen and others.
Many alumni returned to Soochow University and got together to celebrate the 116th anniversary of Soochow University by taking part in the day’s events such as the history expo and the alumni tea party.
