Soochow University’s commencement ceremonies concluded on June 8 with a vibrant celebration for graduates from the School of Business. The event brought together faculty, alumni, and families to witness a milestone moment in the lives of the graduates. With joy and pride, the students carried with them the values and spirit of Soochow, preparing to embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
Over the past four years, business students have built a strong foundation in professional knowledge while honing practical skills and global competencies. With a curriculum spanning management, finance, and marketing, supported by internships, case competitions, international exchange, and industry-linked projects, they have gained valuable experience to propel them toward careers or further academic pursuits.
Board Director Sung-Chang Tang addressed the graduates with thoughtful advice, encouraging them to stay positive, avoid conflict, and engage in self-reflection. He reminded students that youth offers the freedom to try, fail, and grow, and that true success lies not only in personal achievement, but in meaningful contribution to the society. “Today, you are proud of Soochow. Tomorrow, Soochow will be proud of you,” he said, leaving the audience with a message both inspiring and heartfelt.
To commemorate this special occasion, the SU Alumni Association prepared a unique gift: an elegant crystal seal presented to each graduate. More than a keepsake, the gift symbolized the graduates’ hard work, cherished memories, and the enduring connection to their alma mater.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of academic and service awards recognizing outstanding students who had excelled in coursework, leadership, and community engagement. These honors reflected not only individual accomplishments, but also the School of Business’s commitment to holistic education—embodying Soochow’s motto of cultivating virtuous and well-rounded individuals.
Warm laughter echoed through the auditorium as student speakers shared reflections from their years on campus. The graduating class representative drew applause with humor and honesty: “We survived endless deadlines, painful 8 a.m. classes, and term papers that broke our spirits.” The speaker also paid tribute to all the help from professors and families, with thanks to the parents for always believing in their kids and offering unwavering financial support along the way.
Guided by the values instilled at Soochow, this new generation of graduates is ready to face a fast-changing world with resilience and purpose. Their journey continues—filled with courage, conviction, and the spirit of Soochow University lighting up the future.
