Enthusiastic Participation of 300 High School Students in the Second SCU Camp

More than 300 high school students participated in the second SCU Camp hosted by Students Service Club for Recruiting on the 25th and 26th of February 2016 on the main campus of Soochow University. Activities in the camp included campus tour, getting to know the departments, and wonderful performances from student clubs for high school students to understand more about Soochow University.

At the Opening Ceremony, Wei-Liang Chao, Vice President of Soochow University, introduced features of Soochow University and the only School of Big Data Management in Taiwan. He also reminded his audience that the extracurricular learning resources in Soochow University may take career development of the students far beyond their limitation.

The high school students were then given briefings on eight disciplines from which they could pick two they were most interested in to attend a session of detail introductions to help them decide on possible choices for their majors in the future. The eight areas of study include Humanities, Management, Law and Politics, Biological Science and Physics, Social Science and Psychology, Business, Foreign Languages and Big Data Management.

In the afternoon, the campus tour was given by way of group competitions. High school students got familiar with the environment and the resources of Soochow University through competitions. At the ending of this camp, Students Service Club presented a vivid performance to put an end to the whole activity, leaving the high school students with unforgettable memories.
