Soochow University’s administrative heads and faculty gathered at the Downtown campus on July 13th, 2022, to celebrate the grand opening of its Center for Global Sustainable Application of Confucianism and Daoism, followed by a signing ceremony where SU President Wei-Ta Pan inked an agreement with I-Kuang Chien, Chief Operating Officer of C-Media Electronics, Inc. for industry-academia cooperation.
President Pan said that the Center will help establish new morality and values in response to the future environment, while the Center’s founder and convener of the Advisory Board Ke-Ming Lee looks forward to making Chinese culture and Confucianism and Daoism more accessible, international and practical. And I-Ling Lin, the director of the Center, is confident that the Center will promote traditional philosophies to both Soochowers and the world.
The collaboration with C-Media, Pan believed, will trigger innovative thinking among students and offer opportunities for learning and career development. And COO Chien and Director Feng-Hsia Tsai of C-Media hoped that through the cooperation with Soochow University, young students can be trained to keep up with global technology trends and carve out new paths that can cope with the new era.
