The School of Big Data Management at Soochow University brought together creative minds from universities and secondary schools across Taiwan for the Kebbi Robot Cross-Disciplinary Application Contest on September 24th, 2005, inspiring participants to merge technology with humanistic vision through innovative designs.
Centered on the theme “Innovative Teaching or Life Applications Using Kebbi Robots,” contestants demonstrated both STEM creativity and humanistic insight. Projects showcased how AI can enrich education and everyday life, highlighting the potential of merging technology and humanity.
In the General Lesson Plan category, Taipei Municipal Neihu Senior High School won the Innovative Excellence Award for its Family Companion Kebbi Robot. National Tainan Junior College of Nursing earned the Outstanding Innovation Award with Kebbi with Elderly, while Soochow University’s Department of Computer Science and Information Management received the Performance Excellence Award for Physical and Cognitive Integrated Training Room.
Other teams also impressed with diverse creativity. Washington High School’s Animals at Risk guided students from picture books to inquiry learning. Taipei Municipal Fuxing Senior High School’s Kebbi Wants to Tell You Something promoted language and culture preservation, while Taichung Daya Junior High School’s Kebbi Helps You Walk addressed traffic safety with creativity.
In the College Interdisciplinary category, National Taitung University won the Popularity Award for Kebbi Plays a Role in Inclusion, integrating special education concepts. Hungkuang University’s Kebbi, Little Traffic Hero earned an Innovation Excellence Award, and National Taipei University of Education’s Kebbi’s Adventure: Saving Color Kingdom won a Performance Excellence Award for its gamified interdisciplinary learning design.
The judging panel, led by Dean Kai-Yi Chin of SU’s School of Big Data Management, praised contestants for blending technical skill with empathy and social responsibility. The contest not only celebrated creativity but also showcased Taiwan’s growing strength in AI education and cross-disciplinary innovation.
