The research paper presented by Soochow’s graduate and undergraduate students and Assistant Professor Fu-Ming Huang (黃福銘) at the 15th IEEE International Conference on e-Business Engineering (IEEE ICEBE 2018) on October 12th to 14th was chosen the Best Paper of the Conference.

The paper, under the advice of Professor Huang with the title “Prediction of Crowdfunding Project Success with Deep Learning,” was a joint effort by the first author Pi-Fen Yu (余碧芬) and co-authors including Huang and undergraduate students Chuan Yang (楊涓), Yu-Hsin Liu (劉聿欣), Zi-Yi Li (李姿儀) and Cheng-Hung Tsai (蔡政宏).

This year (2018) the Conference was held at Xi’an Jiaotong University in Xi-an, China with a low acceptance rate (16.66%) of paper presentation, and only one paper was selected as the Best Paper, a rare and distinguished honor for Professor Huang and the students, the School of Big Data Management as well as Soochow University.

Huang and his research team have been studying and exploring the risk analysis and scenario predictions of the ecology of crowdfunding platforms. His studies had been sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology in the 107th Academic Year (2018-19) and had won the Challenge Award in the 2nd Fintech Innovation Competition held by Hua Nan Financial Holdings Co.
