Nearly 100 students of SCU’s Department of Business Administration staged flash mobbing events at Downtown Campus and in Ximending on September 27th and 28th respectively, celebrating both the Department’s 50th anniversary and Teacher’s Day. On the 27th, the students, along with President Wei-Ta Pan and some faculty members, sang songs and presented flowers to show their gratitude to all the teachers.
According to the chair of the Department of Business Administration Mei-Ying Liu, the flash mobbing coinciding with Teacher’s Day came with triple meanings. The first was that it was planned and initiated by the students, which showed their respect for teachers. The second was it provided a new perspective to reflect on the new roles and responsibilities of teachers in this new era. The third was that 100 students (50 plus 50) symbolized the torch passing of generations as the Department celebrated its 50 years of history.
The event organizer Pei-Chi Liao, a junior of the Department, said that it was an unusual experience to see a casual and funny side of the teachers, who, through their participation in the flash mobbing, would win more love and respect from the students.
