On March 21st, 2021, 65 Indian students with interests in studying in Taiwan were introduced to the features of SU’s online business courses, as well as its various resources provided for foreign students in a webinar conducted by Soochow’s Global Business Program and EduCare Taiwan.

Under the effort of the Office of International and Cross-Strait Academic Exchange, the two organizers cooperated and addressed important details including the orientation, Chinese language courses and scholarships in the meeting. Additionally, Chyan-Long Jan, Dean of Office of Academic Affairs and Director of Global Business Program, and Jei-Zheng Wu, Distinguished Professor of the Department of Business Administration, explicated their teaching and research areas, which would help potential students better understand the distance learning courses.

While some worry about the issue of cultural adaptation, Neeraj Reddy, an Indian student of SU’s Global Business Program, shared his reason to study in Taiwan and his experience on cultural adjustment and scholarship application. He described that the faculty and students of SU have treated him like a “son-in-law,” a role that is always made to feel special in Indian culture.

This shows that SU's long-established “HEART” strategy in treating foreign students, which stands for Helpful counseling service, Effective overseas partnership, Attentive student care, Resourceful study environment, and Tenacious education foundation, has successfully won the hearts of overseas students.
