QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), a UK-based firm specializing in the analysis of global higher education sectors, ranked Soochow in the World University Rankings 2022 on June 9th, 2021. SU has become one of the new entrants in this year’s top 1,300 among a total of 6,415 universities evaluated.
Each institution had been assessed according to six key metrics, and SU achieved excellent performances in four criteria: Employer Reputation, Faculty/Student Ratio, Academic Reputation and International Student Ratio.
Among the 152 universities in Taiwan that have also made the list this year, Soochow is ranked 16th, on par with National Taipei University, Tamkang University and Tunghai University.
In recent years, SU has been seeking funding for major projects in teaching and research, and prioritizing the enhancement of students’ global competitiveness and research capacity. With the efforts of faculties and staffs, cracking the list of the world’s top universities is a testament to the school’s effectiveness of the above strategies.
